This blog was created with the goal of helping engineers realize the benefits of innovation in their careers – and their lives. Eventually almost all of us reach the point in our lives when we need to think about what to do after our productive working years.
With 76 million baby boomers in the United States and approximately 10,000 a day entering retirement, maybe you are one of them.
The pause in blog posts has been because I’m happy to share that I’ve been engineering my own innovation into a new career. I’m now a licensed agent with Colonial Penn and Bankers Life Insurance and Casualty Company.
You can learn more about engineering a successful retirement for yourself from the Center for a Secure Retirement. This Center is supported by Bankers Life:
This post is NOT a solicitation for any insurance products or services. It’s a short post to share the educational resource above and to share the news of my latest career move.
It’s also a good occasion to remind you that engineering your innovation in life shouldn’t stop once you stop working in a full time job. In fact, it can’t!
When the world is full of uncertainty and change, security comes only when you are able to regularly adapt and innovate yourself and your conditions to address the risks and threats (and opportunities) that didn’t exist before. Don’t expect that everything will work out automatically. Don’t expect that comfort today means comfort for the years ahead.
If you are planning to enjoy a happy and secure retirement of 20-30+ years, there will have to be a lot of innovation capability built into that plan, won’t there?
Whatever innovation is happening with my career, you can always learn the latest by connecting with me on LinkedIn.
Remember to take care — and take charge — as you engineer your own innovation in the months and years ahead!
Engineer your innovation to a better future!
